What to Expect
Fat-dissolving appointments generally take around half an hour.
Your appointment will involve injecting the DCA into the desired area. The area will be numbed with a local anesthetic, however, you may feel some mild discomfort during the appointment.
Following the procedure, you may notice some bruising, and the treated area may be tender to touch. You may notice some swelling which will be most noticeable within the first three days. However, swelling and bruising durations vary from person to person. You may also experience numbness or tingling in the area for two to three days following treatment. Make sure to visit your doctor if you are concerned with any side effects.
After your procedure, make sure not to massage the area for the first 72 hours.
You should expect to see your results within four to six weeks following the procedure.
You may need to undergo multiple sessions, depending on how much volume you are wanting to remove from the area. Generally, one to two sessions are required. However, this will vary from person to person; some people may require two to four treatments. Your practitioner will be able to give you personalised advice on how many treatments you will require to achieve your desired goal. Follow up appointments will happen a minimum of four weeks after your initial procedure.
Fat-dissolving is a permanent procedure, however, we recommend to undergo repeat procedures every four years. Fluctuations in weight following the procedure can cause residual fat to decrease or increase in volume.
